Practice for the CKA after your killer.sh sessions

killer.sh is good. Your CKA or CKAD registration includes two sessions of 36 hours, one of each simulator, and its interface is the closest you'll get to the real exam. Those are two sessions in total. After that, you've used them up.

KubeLab is for the weeks before that. It has 9 timed mocks, 4 for the CKA and 5 for the CKAD, 157 questions in total. Each session gets its own isolated cluster in the browser with kubectl and helm, graded live against the cluster state. Retakes are unlimited.

What the CKA tests

The public CNCF curriculum for the CKA (weights as published; check the official curriculum for the current version):

Troubleshooting is the biggest domain, and it's the hardest to practice from notes: broken kubelets, Pods stuck in Pending, Services with no endpoints. Then come cluster work like RBAC, kubeadm and a highly available control plane, followed by networking (Services, Ingress and the Gateway API, NetworkPolicy, CoreDNS), scheduling (node affinity, resource limits, autoscaling), and PersistentVolumes and StorageClasses.

A preparation order that works

  1. 01

    Learn by topic first.

Use free scenario playgrounds or the docs to understand each domain.

  2. 02

    Then do timed mocks.

KubeLab mocks are four 30-minute sections. You need more than 70% on a section to unlock the next one, so you can't skip your weak areas.

  3. 03

    Retake with new questions.

Each of the 4 CKA mocks has different questions (71 in total), so retaking means new problems, not answers you remember.

  4. 04

    Use killer.sh last.

Run your two sessions in the final week, when you mostly need to get used to the exam interface.

FAQ

Is this a replacement for killer.sh?

Not exactly. Practice with KubeLab first, then use killer.sh last for interface realism.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. One full CKAD mock (Mission 01 · Sillage, 16 questions), flashcards and the YAML reference are free with an account, no card. The CKA mocks are part of the 15 €/mois plan.

Are these leaked exam questions?

No. They're written from the public curriculum. KubeLab isn't affiliated with the CNCF or the Linux Foundation.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel anytime from the billing portal and you keep the free mock.
