Why KubeLab exists
Five timed CKAD mocks on a live cluster in the browser. One is free. Built to iterate: sit, grade, retake.
When I started Kubernetes I tried the usual platforms: Killer Shell, Alta3, KillerCoda. They helped. I am not here to dump on them.
The value proposition still was not there for me. I think it is the approach. As a student I needed something I could fail on quickly and restart. Something that felt light.
Mock exams are one of the best ways to practice. The mistake is treating practice like the official Linux Foundation exam environment. You do not need that environment to learn.
If you have not sat the real thing: the user experience is brutal. It tests your patience as much as your skill. If you live far from their servers, it is worse.
That is why I built KubeLab. I needed a proper tool: sit a mock, iterate, fail, try again.
You might think I contradict myself. I say the exam environment is horrible, and you still have to pass that exam. So shouldn’t you practice in a copy of it?
Because that environment is not the skill. It is lag, a remote desktop, and an interface that fights you. You will sit it once, on the day. The rest of the time you need to iterate. Get good at the work somewhere light. When their UI fights you, skill is what gets you through, not hours spent waiting on their servers.
