Terminal — Check the terminal, create one resource

Before you start

Timer: 10 minutes. It starts when the cluster is up and keeps running if you close the tab.
Grading: about every 5 minutes, and the Grade button scores right away.
Idle: 8 minutes without a keystroke closes the cluster. A 90-second countdown appears on this page first. I'm still here, or any key in the terminal, resets it.
The terminal is live when it prints the green line “You're in. The cluster is ready.” Session connected only means the socket is open. Then kubectl get nodes should list a node.

Check the terminal, create one resource

First mission

About two minutes. This is not the exam.

Press Start session. Wait until the terminal prints a green line:

You're in. The cluster is ready.

The status line can say Session connected before that line exists. Typed commands go nowhere until the green line is there. Then run:

kubectl get nodes

You want one node in the Ready state.

Create one ConfigMap in the default namespace:

kubectl create configmap kubelab-hello --from-literal=msg=hi

Press Grade on this page. Both checks should pass: a node is Ready, and ConfigMap kubelab-hello has msg=hi. You can open the score page to see the same result.
Press Continue to CKAD · Ghost when you want the free mock. Ghost is 16 questions in four 30-minute sections. Closing the tab does not pause a section. On Ghost the cluster closes after 20 minutes with no keystrokes, with a 90-second warning first.
